The Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation (the Forum) has been investigating labelling approaches for providing information on sugars to consumers.
The Food Regulation Standing Committee (FRSC) is responsible for coordinating policy advice to the Forum and facilitated a stakeholder consultation on the labelling of sugars on packaged foods and drinks.
Public consultation on a range of policy options was undertaken for a ten-week period between 11 July and 28 September 2018. The consultation paper that was used is available below:

FRSC has analysed the submissions and has developed a Policy Paper concerning the labelling of sugars on packaged foods and drinks.
