Fermented Beverages Roundtable

On 31 May 2019, a roundtable on fermented beverages was convened by the Australian Government Department of Health on behalf of the Food Regulation Standing Committee (FRSC) and consisted of industry, peak bodies, the Australian Government and state and territory governments. The roundtable was prompted by the findings of a coordinated survey of fermented beverages that detected undeclared alcohol in a number of products.

The roundtable aimed to raise awareness among stakeholders of the findings of the survey and associated public health concerns; and to consider any risk management required to ensure public health and safety. The issues paper and the outcomes report have been published below.
