Aim

Identify and consider options to address implementation matters associated with FSANZ Proposal P1053 for:

  • the general food service sector
  • closely related retail sectors.

The working group reports to the Implementation Subcommittee for Food Regulation (ISFR).

Authorisation

In June 2018:

  • the food ministers requested FSANZ review food safety risk management in the food service and close related sectors
  • the ISFR formed a working group to help develop an implementation package.

Status

This activity is complete following introduction of new requirements for food service and retail businesses that handle potentially hazardous food under Standard 3.2.2A.

An update to Safe Food Australia has been made to support implementation of the new standard.
