Aim
To develop an implementation package for the new PPP standards for berries, leafy vegetables and melons under Proposal P1052. The standards take effect in February 2025.
Leads
New South Wales, as chair of the Implementation Working Group for Horticulture (Berries, Leafy Vegetables and Melons). The working group reports to the Implementation Subcommittee for Food Regulation (ISFR).
Authorisation
In June 2018:
- the food ministers requested Food Standards Australia New Zealand reassess food safety risk management across higher risk horticultural sectors
- the ISFR formed a working group to help develop an implementation package.
Status
We are:
- supporting the Integrated Model for Standards Development and Consistent Implementation
- working with industry and governments to develop guidance material.
