This activity supports Australia’s Foodborne Illness Reduction Strategy 2018-2021+.

Authorisation

The food ministers agreed at their June 2018 meeting to the ISFR's involvement in activities to support the foodborne illness reduction strategy.

Status

Work is underway to develop a plan for further stakeholder engagement.

We are also working with OzFoodNet to summarise foodborne illness trend data.

Completed work

This activity developed:

  • principles to guide data sharing
  • a document showing how the principles can address the challenges and barriers to data sharing
  • a data sharing framework that identifies data of interest to be better shared.
