The Food Regulation Standing Committee (FRSC) engaged the Prism Institute in Canada to develop this independent paper. It does not represent the views of the FRSC members.

The institute conducted:

  • a high-level review of the food regulation system
  • an electronic survey to get feedback on the system from regulators.

Its recommendations are for the:

  • design of the regulatory framework
  • delivery of the framework by regulators.

Some recommendations address consistency in decision making.

This paper is part of a body of work to ensure consistency across the bi-national food regulatory system.
